Pamela delivers consulting projects and training activity for clients globally.  An Associate with KPMG, one of the global “Big Four” audit and advisory firms; Pamela is an international education expert providing insight for KPMG clients in the UK, Canada, Ireland and Australia; and works as a contractor and contributor to projects with Deloitte Canada.  Pamela has provided consulting and interim management services for Universities, Colleges and other organisations in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, and in the Middle East and Southeast Asia over 11 years with Barton Carlyle.  Her previous experience as a practitioner in the field includes serving as Education Attache USA, and Director Education for the British Council in Malaysia, as Dean/Director for International Development and recruitment for Allegheny College, for Napier University in Edinburgh, and as Study Abroad Director at Sheffield University in the UK.  Pamela has experience in external relations, alumni and fundraising at SOAS, London and for a charity in Scotland.   In addition, Pamela has represented i-graduate in North America for the International Student Barometer (ISB) and is an expert in the international student experience.  A member of NAFSA:  Association of International Educators, EAIE, NAGAP,  AIEA and CBIE, Pamela has published articles on international student recruitment, strategic risk management, and the international student experience.  Pamela is a popular speaker at international education conferences and training programs, and leads the Barton Carlyle team as CEO and Director.

Matt has held senior leadership roles at three different Paul Simon Award winning campuses including two public U.S. flagship universities and one private liberal arts college. His areas of expertise include international student recruitment, admission operations, campus support services, and strategic planning for comprehensive internationalization. He currently serves as Director of Admissions at Concordia College has a proven track record for delivering enrollment and data-informed results.

Matt’s been a long-standing member of NAFSA member where he serves as Chair of NAFSA’s Knowledge Community for International Enrollment Management team. His past involvement with NAFSA includes presenting on numerous topics, mentoring and authoring/co-authoring publications. He’s a member of several other associations worldwide and serves as immediate past Chair for Study Minnesota.

Matt has a master’s in Comparative and International Development Education and a doctorate in educational policy and administration from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.

David has held leadership positions in the USA with various universities ranging from a mid-sized comprehensive to a public flagship. He is the author, co-author or editor of nearly 40 publications, including NAFSA’s best-selling book, Managing a Successful International Admissions Office. He has presented more than 100 sessions, workshops and keynotes at regional, national and international conferences. He has also held several elected leadership positions within major professional associations, including President of the American International Recruitment Council, Chair of NAFSA’s International Enrollment Management Knowledge Community and Executive Committee Member of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities’ Commission on International Initiatives.

David received undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He earned a doctorate in educational policy and administration (international educator cohort) from the University of Minnesota, where his research focused on campus services for international students.

David’s areas of specialization include strategic planning for internationalization, international student recruitment, lean process improvement, international student and scholar services and strategic international partnerships. He is based in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. area, where he currently serves as Associate Vice Provost for International Education at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

 Stephanie Doscher, Ed.D. is Director of Florida International University’s Office of Collaborative Online International Learning (FIU COIL) and is co-author of Making Global Learning Universal: Promoting Inclusion and Success for All Students (Stylus & NAFSA, 2018), a comprehensive handbook for engaging all undergraduates in collaborative global problem solving with diverse others. She hosts the Making Global Learning Universal Podcast, is a Faculty Fellow with FIU’s Center for Leadership, and serves on the editorial advisory board for AAC&U’s Liberal Education. 

Stephanie researches, writes, speaks, and consults internationally on topics related to the internationalization of higher education, integrative curricular and co-curricular global learning, and transformational organizational change leadership. Her recent work focuses on the relationship between diversity and the production of knowledge across borders through COIL virtual exchange. Stephanie’s recent writing can be found in University Word News, Peer Review, Diversity & Democracy, and the International Association of Universities’ Handbook of Internationalisation of Higher Education. Rubrics she developed for performance assessment of students’ global learning are used around the world and are cited as part of the OECD PISA global competence framework. 

Stephanie earned her Ed.D. in Educational Administration and Supervision from Florida International University, her M.Ed. in Secondary Education from Western Washington University, and B.A. in History and Theater Studies from Emory University. 

Stephanie Doscher is Director of Global Learning Initiatives at Florida International University. She is active in AIEA, NAFSA, AAC&U, and the Professional and Organizational Development (POD) Network. She is co-author of Making Global Learning Universal: Promoting Inclusion and Success for All Students and hosts the Making Global Learning Universal Podcast. Stephanie serves on the editorial advisory board for AAC&U’s Liberal Education magazine. She holds a doctorate in Administration and Supervision from Florida International University. 

Jacky Dyer is an education professional whose 35-year career spans roles as diverse as classroom teacher, teacher trainer, language school Director, business manager, overseas study specialist and independent education consultant. Jacky is co-owner and Senior Consultant of an ICEF-member overseas student recruitment agency in Vietnam, awarded “Key UK Agent” status by the British Council. She is actively involved in marketing and event management, organising at least 2 education fairs per year and custom-designed events for individual partners. Jacky has carried out a number of studies on the market for student recruitment and transnational education in Vietnam for clients such as The British Council and UK, US and Canadian institutions, and has been an international consultant on a World Bank education project for the government of Vietnam. She is an expert on the Vietnam education system and the market for international education in south-east Asia. A longstanding member of Cambridge Assessment’s Inspection Team, Jacky travels widely in Vietnam and Thailand to inspect local institutions.

Jacky holds a BA Hons. in French and a Masters in TEFL from the University of Reading, and a PGCE in TEFL/TESL and Masters in Educational Management and Leadership from the University of Leicester.

Susan has been in the higher education enrollment management arena for over 30 years serving at the international and domestic levels of marketing and recruitment.  Her passion and mission lie in helping institutions create and support cultural and racial diversity.

During her career, Susan has been a leader in working collaboratively with institutions to evaluate institutional readiness for internationalization and subsequently create a Strategic International Enrollment Plan that fits into the established overall institutional strategic plan.  She has guided institutions in the assessment process, ensuring that institutions are prepared for an internationalization effort and can support and/or develop support for the international student population.  Providing insights for building infrastructure have been a part of the efforts undertaken on behalf of university partners, along with the deployment of the implementation processes.

As a longtime supporter of internationalization, Susan has developed an extensive network of overseas partners and pathway opportunities.  Agent referral networks have been built to best serve university communities with the ability for university partners to actively recruit and establish program and joint degree partnerships.  The network benefitted from the delivery of an active student database and online portal for tracking and managing recruitment and enrollment initiatives.  In addition, Susan provided institutions with recruitment tools, best practices for international student recruitment and guidance on recruiting during the pandemic.

In any internationalization strategy, there is a need for an assessment of the business model that supports the effort.  Business improvement initiatives have been a consistent part of Susan’s work with institutions who have opted to internationalize their campus community; marketing strategies, lead generation opportunities, application review processes, data storage, retrieval and marketing messaging within CRM and SIS, along with the development of both stateside and overseas recruitment strategies.

Susan’s passion for long term growth within the international arena helps institutions align themselves for success by creating an international strategic plan, developing infrastructure to support the strategic plan and providing services to partners and students for successful enrollment and retention.

Dr. Sabine Klahr has 23+ years of experience in international higher education and has served as senior international officer at several institutions in the US. Originally from Germany, Sabine has been involved in international education from an early age when she participated in a high school exchange in the US, decided to stay on as an international student, and eventually immigrated to the US. After earning a BS and MS in Botany, teaching secondary science at the high school level, and developing a non-profit focused on outdoor and science education, she earned a doctorate focused on international education leadership. Her doctoral research involved integrating education abroad in engineering education. Sabine has served in volunteer leadership roles for major international education associations (NAFSA, AIEA, EAIE, APLU CII, and AIRC), including as President of AIEA. These roles, her professional roles in higher education institutions, and her research and publications have provided her with in-depth knowledge of international higher education issues and trends. Sabine has had Fulbright awards to India and Norway. In Norway, she worked with the Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Enhancement in Higher Education (Diku) on an evaluation project to review a funding program supporting Norwegian and North American university partnerships.

Sabine’s expertise focuses on developing university internationalization strategies, international partnership development, public-private partnerships for pathway program development and implementation, organizational structures for international education offices, leadership roles for international education, integrating education abroad in STEM education programs, education abroad in general, international student support and advising, global learning in the curriculum, and faculty engagement in international education.  Her regional specialties are the US and Europe and she has worked with institutional partnerships and student mobility in countries around the world.

Tony has two decades of experience marketing education to global youth audiences. Formerly the Global Digital Marketing Director at Study Group, where he led teams in Singapore, Shanghai, Sydney, New York & the UK recruiting students for Universities in the USA, Australia and Europe. Before this, Anthony established the digital marketing footprint for INTO University Partnerships. A seasoned platform, channel and technology strategist, Anthony specialises in digital student recruitment.

Anthony has lectured on digital marketing to universities on behalf of The EAIE, the British Council, ICEF, DAAD, CASE and NAFSA.
Anthony recently completed a course on Digital Disruption Strategy at Oxford University.

Prior to serving as a consultant, Tom spent 13+ years at the Council of International Schools (CIS) where he was responsible for the development and delivery of services supporting the transition of students from secondary to tertiary education around the globe. He also played a central role in the development of organizational membership policies, and managed and supported a team of nearly sixty member-volunteers. Tom has served in senior admission roles at tertiary institutions in the US where he was responsible for the full breadth of international admission functions and actively engaged in student recruitment across five continents. Most recent consulting projects include directing MBA recruitment tours in the Middle East and assisting universities with undergraduate recruitment and international strategies.

Tom brings this distinctive blend of experience to his work. With his keen power of observation and a gift for listening to and understanding the desires and values of diverse stakeholders, Tom is skilled at building cooperative relationships and international networks from the ground up.

She directs her own consulting firm, Mason Education Group, based in Bogotá, Colombia. Her previous positions include Executive Director of the US-Colombia Fulbright Commission, and Professor and Chair of the Political Science Department at the University of the Andes, both in Bogotá. Ann advises universities, government entities and non-profits on all aspects of global higher education engagement, with particular expertise in strategy development, organizational assessment, strategic partnership development, and the design, delivery and evaluation of international education programs. Ann’s client list includes the US Embassy in Bogotá, IIE, the World Bank, the Land Grant University Colombia Consortium, and universities and government entities in Latin America.

She serves on the boards of directors of the University of Rosario and the US-Colombia Binational Center, is a member of the Accreditation Standards Steering Committee of NASPAA, and was chair of NAFSA’s Teaching, Learning and Scholarship Knowledge Community and Latin American Forum. Ann received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and holds a PhD in political science from Yale University.

Educated in both the UK and USA, Chris is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM) and member of the Academy of Marketing. Chris is on the Board of the EAIE’s Marketing and Recruitment Professional Section, NAGAP international committee and is a regular speaker at international education conferences and advisor to a portfolio of education organisations including national education promotion agencies as well as individual institutions.

Her leadership positions in the USA and the Middle East vary from small private to large research universities – and 13 years in experiential education which took her to 45 countries on 5 continents.  Greet’s experience is in enrollment management with a career-long dedication to recruitment, enrollment, and retention/persistence of international students, the development of international collaborations, and as campus-registrar. She ascribes applying transparent systems- and process-thinking to improvement-endeavors as a large part of her institutional successes.

Greet is actively engaged with the American International Recruitment Council (AIRC) and has been since its inception in 2008. She currently (2018) serves on the AIRC Board of Directors and as Chair of the AIRC Certification Commission. As Chair of AIRC’s Membership and Professional Development Committees, she drafted AIRC’s Institutional Guidelines as a complement to the AIRC Certification Standards for Agents.

Currently based in Doha as a senior leader at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar, Greet earned her Master’s degree in International Education from the University of Sydney, and Bachelor’s degrees in International Relations from Carroll University in Wisconsin and in Pedagogy from KHBO Belgium.

George is an expert in and speaker on international education and comprehensive digitalization strategy working with higher education institutions, not-for-profits and agencies worldwide to provide insight and assist with international strategic planning design and implementation in areas such as international student recruitment, international partnerships, off-shore campus hubs, virtual study and internship abroad programs, student-centered digital educational experience, digital recruitment, learning and student support services. George held leadership positions in universities and corporations in Japan, the United States and Europe, and elected and appointed positions with numerous organizations such as the American Council on Education, the American International Recruitment Council, the Association for International Education Administrators and NAFSA, Association for International Education.

Originally a Japan scholar, over the years, George published numerous articles, book chapters and translations in the field of international higher education, as well as in Japanese studies. He teaches Japanese language, literature, and culture at West University of Timisoara in Romania and at Washington University in Saint Louis.
